1. Who We Are

CharterPrep (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent CIMA exam preparation tool operated by an individual based in Poland. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by CIMA, Kaplan, or any official examining body.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: email address and password (hashed) when you create an account.
  • Diagnostic data: first name and email address collected before the free diagnostic, along with your answers and score.
  • Study progress: question attempts, session history, and readiness scores stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and not transmitted to our servers.
  • Payment data: we do not collect or store payment card details. All payments are processed by Paddle.com, who act as Merchant of Record.
  • Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) via Vercel.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain your account and access to purchased modules.
  • To send you study tips and CIMA preparation content by email — only if you have given explicit consent.
  • To respond to support requests sent to our email address.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised diagnostic scores may be retained for service improvement.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary session cookies to keep you logged in (managed by Supabase Auth). These cookies are essential for the service to function and do not require consent. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time; and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at charterprep@proton.me.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
